Rapid Fit Jacks
Airlines are always looking to reduce the expense and time it takes to replace faulty audio jacks. The time it takes to replace a standard audio jack can mean that repairs do not happen until a scheduled maintenance stop, thus leaving passengers without audio and rendering the inflight entertainment (IFE) system useless.
IFPL's easy to maintain Rapid Fit™ jack resolves these problems by allowing repairs to be made in seconds.
Fast
The Rapid Fit™ jack has been designed to be quick and easy to replace in the event of failure due to damage or breakage. The removable cassette is replaceable by simply undoing one screw, eliminating the need to remove the whole module from the seat.
See our short video clip below to see how quickly you can replace a Rapid Fit™ jack cassette verses a regular jack module.
Versatile
Rapid Fit™ is available as a single pin, dual pin and dual pin power jack. The latter is a great option as it accepts both powered noise cancellation headsets and regular single pin headsets. Also available is an INCAM™ noise cancelling version of the Rapid Fit™ jack. This is a popular choice as when a jack breaks, the cassette can be changed without removing the module from the seat and the noise cancelling electronics remain untouched.
Adaptable
The Rapid Fit™ can be supplied with backlighting, which is of great benefit to passengers when the cabin lights are low. The jack has also been designed to be integrated into our range of multi-port connectors, which can include technologies such as USB, ethernet or mini din.
Upgradeable
The Rapid Fit™ jack is electronically compatible with all IFE systems. The jack fits a standard ARINC oval cut out making this an easy retrofit and upgrade option, and provides an excellent opportunity to replace old pneumatic transducers by a simple one for one swap-out. The installation of Rapid Fit™ INCAM™ allows you to continue using regular headsets until you decide to opt for the noise cancellation option. To achieve the noise cancellation airlines need to provide a headset with a microphone in the earpiece, but this is still a more economic option than the traditional noise cancelling headset.
