Docking Stations
With the advent of music download services such as iTunes and Napster, and the increasing availability of personal media playing devices, never before has it been so easy for passengers to take their music and video collection with them as they travel.
IFPL recognizes the increasing importance of portable electronic devices to today’s passengers. The company has developed multimedia docking stations (MMDS) designed to be compatible with all MP4, MP3, iPod, iPhone, Zunes and DVD players, whilst incorporating USB and audio output jacks as standard.
Our designs have inbuilt flexibility and can be tailored to your requirements. Through the use of innovative 3D technologies, such as modelling, scanning, animation and printing, we can help you explore new ideas and designs to achieve the product that is right for you and your passengers.
The second generation IFPL iPod docking stations provide direct compatibilty with iPhones, iPod Touch, iPod Classic and 4th/5th generation iPod Nano. Connectivity is via a standard 30 pin connector and allows the passengers' own i-device to output audio and composite video to a monitor or connected IFE system.
IFPL’s MMDS units allow the passengers device to be retained vertically rather than sitting on the table tray, thus making it less likely to be damaged by spillages or dislodged by turbulence.
All our MMDS units are manufactured from aluminium and can be finished in any colour to match the customers cabin, even gold plated.
IFPL is part of the Apple development programme and has a 'made for iPod' agreement.
